Lisa: My name is Lisa Iaccarino. I'm 15 yrs old and attending Monroe-Woodbury High School. I decided to start volunteering here because my friend, Kim, told me how much fun it was in October. My favorite pet here is a little orange kitten named Shakira. She loves to be cuddled with and pet. Me and my friend, Kim, usually do 10-25 hours of volunteering a week! Kim: My name is Kim Kurdziel. I am 15 yrs old and go to MOnroe-Woobury high school. I have volunteered since September 2010, because I needed hours for a special school diploma. I recommended volunteering to my friend, Lisa, and she and I come in together. I now have my required hours, but love volunteering so much that I still come 10-25 hours a week. The kitten that I am holding is named Ming, and she is one of my favorite animals here. She is awlays cuddling and purring, but loves to play too. Ming would make a great addition to your home!
Tom Smith We recently lost our dog and cat, so volunteering at the Goshen Humane Society gives me the opportunity to enjopy the company of many wonderful animals until we're ready to adopt our own. My favorite animal at the shelter is the cat Oscar. He is very sweet, and deserves a lot of love. My other interests include sailing and celestial navigation. I am a certified instructor with U.S. Power Squadrons and Past Commodore of Chelsea Yacht Club. Professionally, I am looking for a payroll position in Orange County, due to a layoff from my former firm.
Sarah Mott I am 23, and I currently live in Mount Hope, NY. I chose to volunteer because of my love for animals. It feels good to help take care of animals who do not have homes, and show them the love and care that they deserve. My favorite animal here is Lucas. He is a friendly kitten that I will be adopting once he is ready to leave the shelter.
Tatiana Polanco My name is Tatiana. I attend Goshen High School, and I'm 16. I've been volunteering here since I was 14. I love volunteering because the animals are great. When I volunteer for a certain amount of hours, I will receive a special diploma in school. When I reach those hours, I will still continue to volunteer as much as I can, because I feel the animals deserve a better life. Adopt a pet at the Goshen Humane Society!
Alixandria Martin I am 14 years old, and I attend Monroe-Woodbury high school. I am volunteering at Goshen Humane Society because I love animals, and I like to give back to the community.
My name is Jimmy Murray and I was born and raised in Goshen, NY. I attended John S. Burke Catholic High School where I ran Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track and was a member of the National Honors Society. In the Fall, I will be attending SUNY Geneseo where I will be enrolling in the pre-law advisory program. I volunteer because I feel that giving my time is a good way of contributing to something that transcends my own wants and needs. I chose to volunteer at the Goshen Humane Society specifically because I enjoy working with animals and working for the betterment of my community. My favorite animals at the shelter are Belle and Max. Belle is adopted and is a Beagle. Max was adopted, however came back as his owner worked too many hours to care for him. (Pictured by himself)
